MENGEHAM Rythe Sailing Club had a record 88 entrants for its open regatta on July 20, with the fast Foiling Moths providing the best spectacle and first across the line in 82 minutes.
The 13 events were particularly well supported by the Asymmetric Classes, Finns and Solos.
The course was set in Chichester Harbour and with a north-easterly breeze of force four to five, gusting six at times, there were a number of retirements.
A club finish provided great entertainment for the spectators and a test of the sailors' skills as the 53 finishing boats crossed the line in the narrow creek on a falling tide.
