THE FA Cup will be on parade at Marina Jaks restaurant at Sparkes Marina in the early evening on Monday, September 4.
And you can have your photo taken with the FA Cup between 5pm and 7pm and help raise funds for the Hayling Island Lifeboat Station by paying a £10 to the charity in return for a digital image which you can then get printed.
The trophy, which Ports
mouth won for the first time in 69 years by beating Cardiff in the FA Cup Final in May, is coming to Hayling as part of a charity evening in aid of the RNLI station at Sandy Point.
Siri Young, who chairs the RNLI's fundraising committee on the Island told the Islander: "We are very grateful to Marina Jaks and Portsmouth Football Club for allowing us to offer the chance for people to be photographed with the FA Cup, and raise funds for the vital work of the RNLI saving lives around Hayling's shores."
Marina Jaks' owner Simon Scutt is hosting a football dinner later in the evening also in aid of the RNLI.
Simon said: "Pompey's chief executive Peter Storrie, who lives on Hayling, is a regular at our restaurant.
"We came up with the idea of holding an evening where we can have the FA Cup here and raise some vital funds for a charity that is very close to our hearts here."
Final details of the evening were still being finalised as the Islander went to press but Simon added: "We hope that maybe Harry Redknapp and a few of the players will join us for the dinner.
"We will be able to hear some first-hand stories about the historic day, and have a question-and-answer session with some of the key people who helped bring the FA Cup back to Portsmouth after so long.
"Obviously it will depend on their commitments but hopefully we can also auction off some Pompey memorabilia to raise more money for the RNLI."
